Most people don't think about replacing screens during the winter and why would you.  This can be a great time to replace your screens.

1. It removes them for the winter, which helps with preserving your screens
2. You beat the rush of everyone wanting new screens once windows start opening for the first time.  
3. You aren't in a rush to get them done like you would be in spring because you aren't opening the windows during winter.

Even if you don't need to replace any screens, it's a great idea (if you have the time and effort) to remove the screens during winter to make the screens last even longer.  The long winters take a toll on the screens during the time you might not really open your windows.  Even the little bit of sun during the winters will age the screens over time.  Some animals might even mess with them over the winter making you have to replace them in the spring.
